Day 10 - magical world of pollinators

Join us for 12 days of immersive and exploratory inspiration for reconnecting ourselves respectfully with the natural world and each other.

Experience the calming, rejuvenating and healing power of being in the present moment surrounded by nature, mindfully aware of yourselves and the world around you, synching back with your natural rhythms, cycles and flow!

A wondrous world of intricate details and mesmerising colours waiting to be explored in your garden and out in the natural environment! Pollinators are crucial to the reproduction of plants, and the production of food for us and other living beings that we share this world with.

Activity
Take a magnifying glass and camera outdoors to observe and explore this magical world of pollinators in all of their forms from flies, moths, bees, wasps, beetles and butterflies to possums, birds and bats! How many can you observe and photograph?

-
observe movement of insects an other animals amongst flowers on the ground, in shrubs and up into the tree canopies
-
explore the intricate details of different flowers
-
note their unique methods for attracting pollinators and transferring pollen to visiting animals
-
observe how different animals gather nectar - what is their unique adaptation?
-
how many different fragrances can you notice? Do these smells remind you of anything?
-
bring your focus to one insect or animal and watch them go about their work - perhaps create a story or poem - can you track them back to their home?
-
photograph the different insects that you observe and share them with our community?

Reconnecting ourselves regularly with the natural world has profound health & wellbeing benefits for our whole body; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

May you enjoy your family adventures and making cherished memories! Share your photos with us on Instagram #12daysofnaturefun and let's cultivate an inspiring collection of respectful nature experiences with our beautiful community!

Respectful play

A loving reminder to enjoy our natural world with a deep sense of reverence/respect;
-
leave no trace (take rubbish away with you)
-
be mindful of plants and animals when leaving a trail to explore
-
leave chemicals/pollutants out of waterways and the environment
-
we share the environment with other living beings to whom it is home, both plant and animal. If collecting natural materials or treasures, do so from the ground and not removed from a living plant - mindful of animals that use the material as shelter
