Day 6 - moving cloud art & picnic rugs

Join us for 12 days of immersive and exploratory inspiration for reconnecting ourselves respectfully with the natural world and each other.

Experience the calming, rejuvenating and healing power of being in the present moment surrounded by nature, mindfully aware of yourselves and the world around you, synching back with your natural rhythms, cycles and flow!

Cloud spotting is a delightful way to slow down, return to the present moment and enjoy the art of 'just being' as you observe the natural world around you with a sense of wonder. This relaxing, mindful and creative activity can be done from indoors and offers connection with the natural world when you can't get outside.

Allow your imagination to fly away and enjoy being present in the moment.
Activity
Find a comfortable space to lay on your back directly on the ground or spread out your picnic rug. Engage your senses of sight, wonder and creativity as you observe mesmerising cloud formations coming and going, forming and disappearing before your eyes.

-
how many different layers of cloud can you observe? Are they moving in different directions at varying speeds?
-
observe the cloud formations, allowing your mind to recognise shapes of things that it knows - animals, objects, faces...
-
bring your awareness to the shapes of the clouds - notice how they morph, even disappear, form and join together before your eyes
-
do you notice the sun creating crepuscular rays (streaming fingers of light 0 sunbeams) through the clouds?
-
try this relaxing activity over different days and weather, even locations, sunrises, sunsets and on a full moon for an appreciation of the diversity of clouds and the impact that the weather, sun and moon have on their appearance and behaviour
-
perhaps you might like to journal your experience with poetry, drawings, free writing, or even photography

Reconnecting ourselves regularly with the natural world has profound health & wellbeing benefits for our whole body; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

May you enjoy your family adventures and making cherished memories! Share your photos with us on Instagram #12daysofnaturefun and let's cultivate an inspiring collection of respectful nature experiences with our beautiful community!

Respectful play

A loving reminder to enjoy our natural world with a deep sense of reverence/respect;
-
leave no trace (take rubbish away with you)
-
be mindful of plants and animals when leaving a trail to explore
-
leave chemicals/pollutants out of waterways and the environment
-
we share the environment with other living beings to whom it is home, both plant and animal. If collecting natural materials or treasures, do so from the ground and not removed from a living plant - mindful of animals that use the material as shelter
