Day 1 - create a sit spot

Join us for 12 days of immersive and exploratory inspiration for reconnecting ourselves respectfully with the natural world and each other.

Experience the calming, rejuvenating and healing power of being in the present moment surrounded by nature, mindfully aware of yourselves and the world around you, synching back with your natural rhythms, cycles and flow!

Our bodies use over 30 different senses to monitor the world around us in order to keep us safe and comfortable. With technology and modern distractions consuming our attention, immersing ourselves in nature and engaging our senses returns us to our most natural state of being.
Activity
Find a comfortable, shaded space to sit quietly in nature. Engage all of your senses to observe and respectfully explore the natural world around you. Bring awareness to each of your senses as you sit;

-
what can you see in the distance, above you and below? Note animals, insects, flowers, trees, shadows, colours and textures.
-
close your eyes, what can you hear, feel, smell and taste?
-
place your hands on the earth, what can you feel?
-
share a picnic full of nature's wholesome seasonal foods!

Reconnecting ourselves regularly with the natural world has profound health & wellbeing benefits for our whole body; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

May you enjoy your family adventures and making cherished memories! Share your photos with us on Instagram #12daysofnaturefun and let's cultivate an inspiring collection of respectful nature experiences with our beautiful community!

Respectful play

A loving reminder to enjoy our natural world with a deep sense of reverence/respect;
-
leave no trace (take rubbish away with you)
-
be mindful of plants and animals when leaving a trail to explore
-
leave chemicals/pollutants out of waterways and the environment
-
we share the environment with other living beings to whom it is home, both plant and animal. If collecting natural materials or treasures, do so from the ground and not removed from a living plant - mindful of animals that use the material as shelter
